Art Show photo

In this picture, I am holding a picture of Jennifer, holding a picture of Breyane, holding picture of Rhoda.  Each picture was taken in the exact same place so that the trees, bushes and the outside of a fireplace would be visible in smaller versions in the other pictures. The person in each picture is the main focus and is closer, while the other objects are further back. There are shapes in these pictures that keep getting smaller and are very visible, especially the fireplace. The picture is in focus in order to show the texture of the bushes as well as the objects in the back. It was taken outdoors in a light place. I think my work was successful because our group was able to work together and take the picture as well as edit it so that we were all satisfied.

Burning House Project

-Photo booth pictures
Pictures of my little sister and I, and my two most friends and i. I've collected them ever since our first photo both picture and they always make me smile.
-My two favorite books
I could read these books over and over again and not get tired. Although they are not the greatest books, they do entertain me.
-The Bible
A present from my grandparents on my 15th birthday.
-Universal Studios Annual Pass
Won't expire until august, and i love Universal Studios.
-We the Kings (band) shirt
The band "We the Kings" used to be my favorite band and my brother knew that so for my birthday, as a gift, he bought me this shirt during one of their concerts that i could not go to. Although it is not my favorite band anymore I still really like their music but its the memories that come with the shirt the I like the best.
-Signed concert ticket by A Rocket To The Moon
My favorite band "A Rocket to the Moon) has been my favorite band for five years now and I finally got to see them live in my first concert. That alone is why i would take this ticket with me but after the show i also got it signed by them which made the ticket extra special to me.
-School ID
It is essential for me, it is a priority, but does not have much sentimental value.

-Cellphone
Always have it with me, it would be necessary for communication if my house was really about to burn, but otherwise i would still always have it with me to socialize.
-Camera
I need it to record more memories, which I like to do very often.
-Ipod
Contains my favorite music. I love music and i always want to listen to it. I would not leave behind my Ipod because it is my first choice of entertainment.
-Laptop
My laptop would be taken with me because, like other things listed here, is my entertainment. I need it for school work, socializing, pictures, etc..
-My favorite pair of shoes (only one shoe is shown)
I would not leave behind my favorite pair of shoes because these were not easy to get. I waited a long time for these shoes and once i finally got them i loved them. My mom bought them for me.
-QuinceaƱera Photo album, crown, and Video.
These items have a lot of sentimental value to me because they remind me of my family in Mexico. I had my Quinceanera in Mexico with my family and it was a wonderful experience that i would never forget.

Series picture (Eyes)

I took three pictures of three different people with blue eyes. These people are showing no emotion so that it doesn't distract the viewer from their eyes. I chose to photograph people with blue eyes so that my purpose could be clearer. My series was about the small white circle that shows up on peoples eyes on a picture. This is a reflection of usually the flash from the camera or a bright light. I chose to accentuate that circle by placing a big light right in front of their face so when the picture is taken, the white light will cover almost all of their pupil. I also chose to stand in the middle of that light so that the outline of myself can be shown on their pupil. When editing this picture I tried to wash out the color of their faces and put a gray/blue background to emphasize the blue color of their eyes. These pictures where taken indoors, with a white background and a big light in front of them. I think my work was successful in terms of my general idea because I was able to accomplish the accentuated white rectangle on their pupil. However, i was not completely satisfied with my idea because after taking the pictures and editing them, I thought that my idea was too simple.

Truth picture

I see Rhoda sitting on a bench looking up at her old self as a happy dancer. The Rhoda on the right is up on the bench dancing with joy, while the Rhoda on the left is sitting down, hunched over, frowning. The photo is darker around the edges which focuses on the two Rhoda's. It is balanced because there is one Rhoda on each side of the picture. It also has emphasis on the main subject, because of the darkened edges. There is visible texture on the wall behind the main subject and also on the bench. There is a sharper tone in the center where the lightest light is and the image is in focus. In this picture Rhoda is nostalgic about the passion she used to have for dance, which is what the old Rhoda has. The old Rhoda, on the right, seems very happy with dance. The Rhoda on the left does not have a passion in her anymore and she wants it back. Half of the image is dark and that is the left side because the Rhoda on the left is gloomy. The right side is light because Rhoda has a content expression. This was taken outdoors. I think my work was overall successful because I portrayed the feelings I was trying to express through Rhoda's facial expressions, body language and lighting.

Diane Arbus style

I see an awkward couple sitting down on the sidewalk. They are not awkward with eachother yet, are awkward members to society. There are windows in the background and bushes that are not far away. I adjusted the photo into black and white and then made it a little warmer. There is texture in the bushes and in the grass. The photo is balanced because there are two people in the middle of the photo as well as two windows in the background. Diane Arbus takes pictures of people who are not intentionally bizarre. I used two models, one guy and one girl, and positioned them so they can look naturally akward. I think this picture has sort of a light mood. Even though they dont look happy, they also do not have a dark mood. It was taken outdoors and the sun was out which made the picture a little light. I think that my work was successful because my models looked awkward.

edited keith carter style (tree)

I see 3 trees, two that are farther away than the first one, with one closer up and focused. I can see most of the details on the closer and focused tree. There is texture on the bark of the tree and the pine needles of the closer tree. The picture is balanced and also has a pattern because of the number of trees and their position (one in the middle, one to the right and one to the left). The tree in the middle and closer tree was intentionally focused to match the style of my photographer. The trees on the back are darker than the closest one which makes the image's mood dark. The image was taken outdoors with a landscape background. In my opinion my work was successful because it matched the style of my photographer.
